Pretty much anything. If you can draw it out we can find a way to manufacture it. We use everything from hand tools to cnc industrial machinines to fabricate our props.
I want a custom prop made, what should I do?
First thing is to email us with a brief description of the prop and a reference shot of it. From there we will give you a quote for both price and lead time. If these figures suit what you are looking for then we ask for a deposit of half the cost and then we get to work.
What is the lead time involved in making a prop?
Lead time varies according to our current workload, the complexity of the prop, and materials involved. Generally we need a minimum of a two to three week lead time to be able to adequately give your prop the attention and detail that it requires.
How much does a custom prop cost?
Cost for a custom props can fluctuate anywhere from tens of dollars to thousands of dollars depending on the size, complexity, functionality, materials, and our production schedule. However if you have a specific budget in mind we can usually work out an acomodation that meets both your cosplay and budget needs.
Can you make me a full costume
No, we provide only the props and accesories to accentuate your costume. Sorry, no cloth work.
What do you make your props out of?
Our props are constructed out of whatever we feel is the best materials for the job. Be it wood, plastic, metal, resins, foam, or fiberglass we have experience in all of these materials and more.
Can you make a prop completely out of metal, or with a metal blade?
We can manufacture a solid metal prop for a custom order, but be forwarned that metal is heavy, expensive, and not allowed in most conventions.
What is your guarantee for workmanship of my prop?
All of our props are made for costuming purposes and unless otherwise specified are not meant to take concentrated abuse. With custom props we let you know exactly what to expect from a prop and what it will hold up to. All of our props are designed with the general wear and tear of convention use in mind. If it fails to hold up to general wear and tear then we will at our discretion either repair or replace the prop.
Certainly, we can help you fix any prop that has had the misfortune of breaking.
Hey is there anyone actually reading these emails I keep sending?
Yes, actually there is. Unfortunately, we have been plagued with email malfunctions and poor organization. We had remedied any past problems and are working on ensuring that we keep all technical errors to a minimum. Our current wait time is between 3 to 5 business days. We ask for you to be patient while we are at conventions as we do not always have an internet connection (to see if we are at a convention swing by the links page all linked conventions are where we are/plan on being). If you feel you are still have difficulties reaching us please email LT at LT@MorlockEnterprises.com.
